Debbie Torrellas has revolutionized what is understood by rehabilitation in the Caribbean by introducing new and innovative aquatic modalities, exclusive for the enjoyment and health improvement of the community she serves. She is the Founder and Director of KinFloat Aqua Wellness Center, the first and only integrated aquatic wellness center of its kind in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Debbie designed her own aquatic exercise method specially designed for the complete empowerment of the individual: the KinAcuaYogi Method®. She has been providing Dolphin Assisted Therapy in the Caribbean for more than 10 years for participants from Puerto Rico, the United States, and the British Virgin Islands. In 2009, Debbie received the Woman Entrepreneur award from the Municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has published two books: The Water Kite Journey, Get Wet and Heal! and Vuela. Debbie Torrellas is the director of Aquatic Therapy University-Caribbean Campus, the first campus of said institution in the Caribbean and facilitate the process of development of aquatic therapists in the region. Today, is the authority in Aquatic Therapy in Puerto Rico. She participates as a continuing education speaker in local training workshop and conferences.
